Hi folks,
It's @ 2:25 pm in the afternoon here in Asia, while I guess it's around 2:25 am in the morning at the Eastern Time zone.
In summary, the flight was okay. Allow me to be quite real. Besides talking to a few companions, the flight travel was rough. One other small consolation was the space between seats on Northwest airlines: much needed stretching for the legs. Bus travel from Manila to Baguio was not ideal (imagine unpleasant bumps and less-than-ideal scents), and the jet lag totally wiped me out for the first couple days here. A 20-hour flight is not conducive to the body. Besides all of that stuff, I arrived in one piece. Thank God!
So far, I have been drafted to attend a wedding, visit a neighboring Catholic retirement home for nuns, and speak at a local medical missions trip. Let's see what else God has in store for me.
Also, as you can read I finally have access to the internet! I'm posting from an internet cafe in Baguio City, 24 hour access is a plus. Unfortunately, the cafe only provides DSL access. I'm missing a T1/digital cable access so much. As you can guess, the connection is a bit slow for my taste. I'm so spoiled and going through withdrawal from blogging!
Fortunately, it appears that the cafe is Christian sponsored. A few promo ads with Jesus in shirt and tie, "Have you connected with me lately?" He, he.
And, I peeked at one of my young neighbor's PC screen, and she is reviewing Hillsong song lyrics. Awesome.
During my travel across this area, a number of small evangelical churches are found in the suburbs. I hope to get an opportunity to visit.
I'm amazed at the scenery, the flora in particular. Baguio boasts better weather temps compared with the capital, Manila.
I hope to get some images loaded here. We'll see how it goes.
Recording and sharing my experiences onscreen. Writing about the Washington DC metro area, Christianity, current events, travel, the local church scene, and my life adventures...And, yes, any tales, observations, & opinions may be included.
