Samuel Jackson is speaking to me on the phone.

While working diligently, I received a promotions call from a recording by Samuel Jackson. The crazy thing about it is I heard him call me by name and he knew things about me only certain people would know. Yeah, I was annoyed.

It went a something like this:

Hello. This is [Traveler's name] at [Traveler's workplace].

Samuel Jackson recording: [Traveler], this is Samuel Jackson. Blah-blah, blah, blah.

I was just cracking up. The recording gives praises/persuasion to see the flick. He sounds like he was talking in Pulp Fiction mode and, as I listened, he mentioned a few things about me.

The recording was promoting his latest film "Snakes on a Plane".

Somebody set me up. I thought it was a co-worker, but it was that devilish Miss Roz. At her workplace, her colleagues were playing jokes on each other, so I was included in the melee of pranks.

She already got me twice. You know what they say about paybacks.

And, no, I don't plan to see the flick.

Not because of Samuel Jackson.

Why would I want to see a movie about snakes on a plane? Of course, I'll check the reviews for a verification if the movie is bad as the title.

"Devilish Miss Roz"? (Were you really annoyed?)

I really want to see it (just out of curiousity), and on opening night as well, in a movie theatre that's ghetto (Eisenhower Avenue AMC in Alexandria comes to mind), so that you get all the noise. But since my film buddy isn't interested, I'll have to miss it.

I think it's a brilliant marketing strategy that goes brilliantly with the whole vibe of the film.
