This is not a post-Halloween post.
As I stated in an earlier post, the YA/SA group is studying the The Screwtape Letters for the last several weeks. I got an opportunity to do a teaching on the later chapters in the book on gluttony, sensuality, sexuality, and marriage.
Before the study began, we were greatly honored by the presence of a praise and worship band, Relevant. The P&W band resides somewhere in upstate New York. Buffalo, I think? They are associated with an AG church.
I thoroughly enjoyed their renditions of classic hymns and hearing their own songs. The way I would describe the experience --- think about MTV unplugged, Praise & Worship Band style. I got an opportunity to talk to the young guys and speak about their music.
That teaching went okay and I got some interesting feedback from the group. Along with our usual group of folks, the band members stayed to listen to the study.
From this experience, I can see God moving this life group from a bible study to a full grown worship service. It has been an inspiration how God could transform this life group experience to an actual church service, if we (as the church) allow it to happen.
I've asked the Youth Pastor to invite them back to perform in January.
