But the birds can fly.

On Sunday afternoon, I took advantage of the warm weather and visited the Veterans Park / Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge.

Let me tell you something. The place was packed as I wasn't the only person taking advantage of the spring-like temperatures. Quite a number of young families had brought food for picnics, and large groups of young men (and women) took to the fields to play competitive soccer.

As I traveled through the park area with my camera in tow and walked down the nature trails, I took a few shots of the local wildlife. In particular, I caught a couple flocks of Canadian geese, local ducks, and, as I found out later, a pair of Great Blue herons with spring plumage flying through the park.

At one point, I almost fell off a tree trunk trying to take a picture of one of those herons. Yet, it was truly a wonderful time to take in the climate and watch God's creations at play. I was blessed.

Blue plumage becomes you, eh?

And, we have lift off!

By the way, more amateur photos can be found at my flickr photo account. Feel free to leave a reply or two. I appreciate your comments, good or bad.

How wonderful that God takes care of his creations, like the birds, whether they are in flight, nesting with young ones, or fighting off predators. If God can take care of the birds, then He surely can help us out of our troubles, out of our storms, and out of our fights.

Don't forget that.

If he can give flight to birds, then he can lift us up from our own situations. We have to allow Him to work in us. That means we NEED to rely on Him for all those things that we are so concerned about.

Don't forget that.

You might be thinking something like, "Well, traveler, it's easy for you to say that."

My response, "It is easy as that." We tend to make things or our situations much more difficult than they are."

If they are difficult, then give it to God for handling. He is large enough to deal with such things. Don't put God in a black box. In other words, give your concerns (such as your worries) to God. He'll show you the way. Although it may take time to deal with the worries of this world, He loves you enough to take care of your needs.

Some of you already know about my personal testimonies how God led me to where I am. I thank Him for what He has done and for what He continues to do in my life.

And, I won't forget that.

Today's Scripture: Matthew 6:26 (Amplified Bible)

26Look at the birds of the air;
they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns,
and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them.
Are you not worth much more than they?
