The weather in the Bay area is great. I feel so refreshed with the great warm weather out here. So far, I'm happy as a clam. The flight from DC was relaxing. I had a great conversation with a Pakistani semi-retired stockbroker living in the Herndon, VA area. He sat next to me in the middle seat. He was a nervous wreck, rubbing his hands, sweating and eyes darting left to right. I had to calm him down, before he spooked other people on the flight.

We talked about the Sub-Continent, Indian History, Pakistani politics, the use of yogurt in curry dishes, the Hindu vs Moslem ideologies, NATO, the future of the European Union, and other related topics. He was quite nervous getting back on a plane. It has been 20 years since he has been in a flight, and it showed. Before we knew it, we talked for almost 4 hours without any pauses. He was a fully engaging man. Unfortunately, he told me that he was not allowed to return to his country. Such a shame. I could tell that he was very proud of his nation and missed being there. He was a man with much wisdom.

Speaking of "happy as a clam", I had a great chowder last night at the hotel restaurant. It was delish. I hope to try more Californian cuisine while I'm here in San Francisco. When I checked into the hotel last night, they bumped me up to a nice executive suite. Ain't that sweeeet! So much room. Thanks to God for that blessing and thanks to Marriott for that nice upgrade.

I have yet to take any pictures on this trip. I hope to take a few shots at a local restaurant which is up on a major hill in the bay area.
