Oh, I forgot to mention another couple items about my trip to Philly.
Kareem Abdul Jabar was seen at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. My direct supervisor was standing in front of him on an escalator as people gawked at his direction. He did not know that Kareem was behind him until he got off the escalator. Kareem walked through the convention center with crowds watching him. Obviously, he stuck out from the crowd due to his obvious size. I had heard that Kareem was speaking at the conference and peddling his latest book.
At the end of the conference, while my colleagues and I were waiting at 30th Street Station for our return trains toward home, we caught the image of Bobby Flay, the Chef Throwdown master / Iron Chef America, standing in line for a train. The guy standing behind him had motioned to us to get our attention and pointed furiously and mouthing that Bobby Flay was in front of him.
One woman, also a conference attendee was sitting beside us. She never watched the Food Network, did not know who Bobby Flay is, and blew off the guy behind Bobby. It looked like his actor wife was with him.
Also, here are a few Philadelphia photography images from yours truly.
The statue of Benjamin Franklin at the Franklin Institute Science Museum.
On a clear and cool morning, I got an opportunity to walk through the City Hall area and take a photo the Philadelphia City Hall Tower. You can barely see the top of the building, where a statue of Philadelphia's favorite son, B. Franklin stands.
When I arrived to my hotel, the room was not ready. I walked through the local neighborhoods and noticed this church parish. It definitely had that colonial feel/environment. And, no, I did not adventure inside. It was getting late and I wanted to get to my hotel room.
Recording and sharing my experiences onscreen. Writing about the Washington DC metro area, Christianity, current events, travel, the local church scene, and my life adventures...And, yes, any tales, observations, & opinions may be included.
