Touch me

Last night I attended a Friday healing prayer service at COA. It was a surprisingly refreshing good time. Initially I didn't feel the need to ask for prayer when I sat down. I came to enjoy the praise and worship, and, to be honest, I didn't want to be at home. After the music played and Marnie gave her sermon, I raised my hand to receive prayer. A prayer minister came behind my seat, and, as soon as she touched my shoulders, I felt a soothing warmth. Her words gave such great encouragement and healing. I even wept for a few moments, not realizing that I needed to be prayed for. We sensed the Holy Spirit filling that room. After everyone received prayer, we continued with more music. Joy was spilling forward. You could see it in their faces. A number of participants danced to the hymns, while swinging colorful banners around their heads.

After the prayer service, I went to dinner with the praise team leader, a great friend of mine, to Artie'’s restaurant in Fairfax. It'’s a pretty good restaurant with various choices of entrees and great desserts. The cuisine is a mixture of hearty American and modern American foods. In particular, the lobster bisque is quite the dish, and the fish entrees are usually good too.

Tonight, I intentionally decided to stay inside. I'm working on a number of items today.

1) I want to update the personal weblog. So, I'm playing around with the template and format. So, you'll notice a few minor changes.

2) I'm searching and reviewing church and ministry websites. Tomorrow, I'll work with a fellow church member, a webmaster, to update the YA ministry website. It'’s a pretty website, but significant changes are needed. The current site doesn't include any detailed ministry opportunities or resources information, although some good links are found at the church main site.

3) I need to finish my research for my next position paper due on Thursday. I'll be out for business travel to San Diego on that day. Unfortunately, both the campus library and the local public library closed at 6 pm today.

Today's verse: Malachi 4:2 (New Living Translation)

But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture
