After a weekend filled with a funeral/viewing and catching up with my more likeable family relatives on Saturday and watching a boring Capital hockey loss yesterday at the MCI, oops, I mean Verizon Center, I'm getting back slowly into the swing of what almost looks like regular life ...
The Caps lost 5-2 to Ottawa in a game where they were clearly overmatched, although it was a pure delight to watch Russian rookie Alex Ovechkin on the ice. He is definitely a hard working player. You've gotta hand it to the Ottawa team as they contained him during the whole game. More details are found here.
Note to self: For future reference, be aware of upcoming DC parades and other events blocking traffic(especially now since the weather is getting warmer) and prepare to drive alternate routes to the "Verizon Center". We got caught in the middle of traffic, but our driver got around it by directing us through a Memorial bridge detour.
On a separate note.... A tidbit of info for you to digest.
Wow. Depending upon if you believe in this person's redemption story, here is a news item CNN news about a paroled felon, James Tramel, convicted of killing a young man several years ago, now has taken up as a man of the cloth as an associate pastor for a small Episcopalian congregation. The man won early parole from the Governator, and it sounds like the church is ready for him.
Go figure. He pursued a Divinity degree while he was in prison and he got engaged during incarceration.
Blessings to him and his congregation. They made their peace.

we have redemption through His blood,
