When I read about Tom Fox in a recent WaPO article, a Quaker who served on a "Christian" peacemaker team and died in Iraq while taken hostage by an unknown group, I found out that he was a fellow blogger.
Admittedly, I don't really know anything about Christian peacemaker teams, the organization, or their mission statement and purpose. Their website states that the teams are sponsored by a number of Christian denominations, ranging from Brethren, Mennonite, Quaker and other religious groups.
His blog can be viewed here. Not really knowing who he was during his life, I can tell from reading a few entries on his weblog that he served as a passionate peacemaker/activist.
