Overheard at an office party last month.
Scenario: A female co-worker was transferring to another department for a better opportunity. During her dept farewell party, a group of female workers in a semi-circle got into a discussion about their pregnancy histories.
They were comparing labor periods.
Female #1: Both deliveries were very long. My first one took over 24 hours before he was actually born.
Female #2: Mine took over 18 hours.
Female #3: I don't remember a thing when I was in labor. All I know is that they are here today.
Female #4: They tried to induce labor by making me walk down the halls.
Female #2: Why would you want to remember the pain?
Female #3: The first ones [deliveries] usually take the longest time?
Female #1: With my first one, the nurse gave me too much anesthesia far too late during the procedure. When the doctors were ready, I wasn't ready at all.
Female #2: What happened?
Female #1: I was just feeling too good at the moment. I couldn't feel a thing or do anything. So, his team went to overdrive and converged around me so they had to pull my son out.
I don't remember much after that. Except that I was feeeeling sooo gooood!
When it was time to deliver, I wasn't aware of anything. Filled with anesthesia and feeling very relaxed at the moment, I belted out, "No, you go get it!"
