The remains of T Storm Ernesto are still felt in the metro DC area today, where local regions are reeling from overnight electrical blackouts, fallen debris, such as downed telephone poles and trees, and massive winds.
The results have delayed and frustrated plans of Labor Day weekend vacation goers. News details are found here and here.
As for me, it has merely (slightly) slowed down the start of this vacation. I survived the storm, and we didn't encounter any electrical disruptions during the night, although my brother said they had a 6-hour blackout in the Woodbridge VA region. Isolated thunderstorms are expected in the Shenandoah Valley area during the weekend, but it won't be anything serious.
Looking outside from my office window, I watched as the harsh winds pushed pedestrians - making it difficult to get to their destinations. I, and other DC commuters, were surprised by the chilling temperatures. After work, as I walked away from the office building, I noticed piles of various broken umbrellas in trash bags.
Another storm dies or moves to another direction, another day where we walk forward to our destinations.
Recording and sharing my experiences onscreen. Writing about the Washington DC metro area, Christianity, current events, travel, the local church scene, and my life adventures...And, yes, any tales, observations, & opinions may be included.
