A random rant on retail during the season

For those in the mid-Atlantic area, you have noticed the drop in temperature and change in seasons (at least in the last couple weeks). During my typical morning preparation for work, I will listen to the radio. At intermittent times, I don't check the weather outside or tune out the morning radio announcements. Well, for today, I figured that it would be quite chilly, but I didn't know that it was raining.

During my lunch hour, I rush to buy a stable umbrella at a major department store in the Metro Center area so that I can walk a few blocks to our company's All Hands meeting at a nearby hotel scheduled later in the day, I see retail staff taking the seasonal Christmas items out of their boxes and shelving them on display.

I was filled with sudden disappointment. What ever happened to Autumn, my favorite part of the year? No displays for Halloween or Thanksgiving were in the vicinity.

Attention All Retailers, allow me to enjoy the fall season, please.
