I was wondering when articles about President Gerald Ford's spiritual life will appear in the news. An article states Ford had a quiet faith and a strong spirituality. Surprisingly, it was reported in the 1970s. This Christianity Today article is a 1974 reprint about then-new president Ford. Within this article, the following Scripture was quoted to be one of his favorite verses.
If you know about the Ford family, then you may already know that Ford's son Mark is a pastor. This CBS article states that Mark performed last rites at the president's deathbed.
What did I tell you? When it was reported that Senator Barack Obama started to reach evangelical Christians, I asked the question when will other Democrat politicians like Senator Hillary Clinton going to start their own outreach to evangelical Christians. Well, Senator Clinton is hiring an "evangelical" consultant to attract Christians to her "likely" 2008 presidential bid.
Here is the link to the online blurb. Also, a detailed NY Times article reveals how consultants will work with Democrats to reach theological conservatives in upcoming elections.
Although Christianity has attracted lower caste Indians, an Indian online paper cites that Christians may still encounter caste issues.

To piggyback on President Ford's favorite verse, I have added the other related verses in today's Scripture section for additional context.
Today's Scripture: Proverbs 3:1-8 (New Living Translation)
Trusting in the Lord
1My child, never forget the things I have taught you.
Store my commands in your heart.
2If you do this, you will live many years,
and your life will be satisfying.
3Never let loyalty and kindness leave you!
Tie them around your neck as a reminder.
Write them deep within your heart.
4Then you will find favor with both God and people,
and you will earn a good reputation.
5Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
6Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.
7Don't be impressed with your own wisdom.
Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
8Then you will have healing for your body
and strength for your bones.
