As some of you may already know, a couple of Virginia churches part of the Episcopalian diocese are going to request splitting from the church over sexuality issues in the church. Specifically, since 2003 the Episcopal church has endorsed an openly gay bishop, V. Gene Robinson. Some other churches may also exit from US Episcopal church association. The US church has been criticized by Episcopal churches from other nations.
I've attended a few of these Virginia churches. They attempt to be biblically based.
Another pastor from New Life Church has resigned from his position after Ted Haggard resigned from his post as senior pastor. Young Adult pastor Christopher Beard will leave after he admitted sexual misconduct in 2004 before he got married. More details are found here. I attempted to find more info about Beard on the church site, but the bio information has already been pulled from the site.
I feel for the families and congregation. It has to be tough.
