A churchexecutive.com article cites that Pentecostalism has grown slowly in Asia and is viewed as controversial by some Asian nations. Some national stats are presented in this article.
Virginia Congressman Virgil Goode made a comment in regards to Muslims elected to US government. In a letter responding to a Muslim convert elected as a Minnesota representative, he wants strict immigration policies to discourage any further increase of Muslim representation in politics/government that may change the current value system.
He warned that more Muslims in political positions will demand the use of the Quran/Koran. Does he have a point? What a way to place fear in the hearts of men, eh?
A humorous WP article on the use of energy efficient lights for Hannukah is mentioned here. A push has been made for a pro-environmental holiday.
Did I say the story is quite humorous. At least, I think so. Okay, so I got a mere chuckle out of it.
A WP opinion on the stand of individual churches in Virginia planning to secede from the US Episcopalian church due to homosexuality is found here.
Another opinion about the second pastoral resignation from Ted Haggard's New Life Church is available here. The article states that a second scandal brought up so soon after Ted Haggard's scandal is very risky for the church.
Recording and sharing my experiences onscreen. Writing about the Washington DC metro area, Christianity, current events, travel, the local church scene, and my life adventures...And, yes, any tales, observations, & opinions may be included.
