Newsworthy 12/26/06: Who Believes in Angels? Pentecostal growth in US, UK; Spirituality & Alcohol Spirits; Older Mice Die in Jet Lag Study

Religion News

A WP article quotes a survey that most Americans believe in angels. The highest percentage of believers come from White evangelical Christians.

This UK article briefly talks about the significant growth of Evangelical and Pentecostal faiths in the US as well as the UK. Pentecostal have even overtaken Methodists in ecclesiastical ranks, quote the article.

Hmmmm. Here is an out of the ordinary article about an Oregon Christian winery. How can they make wine? Well, Jesus did convert water into wine at the wedding, didn't He? Does Spirituality mix with alcoholic spirits? Read which Scripture the winemakers chose to quote on their corks.

Travel News

A WP article talks about a University of Virginia study on mice dealing with jet lag. What are the results? Most older mice died from the flight simulations. I dislike jet lag, but I didn't think it could be that bad. Scientists don't know what to conclude from the results. What should one do in preventing jet lag? The article says the best thing is to gradually prepare before leaving for your trip.

I like one suggestion from the article, one person "sets his watch to his destination's time zone before he takes off."
