Tis the Season

An associate pastor and his wife shared their home this weekend with the Church YA Group as the group celebrated their annual Christmas potluck party at their place on Saturday night. It was a great time for everyone. We got an opportunity to fellowship, share stories, and partake in different foods. The highlight was the opportunity to sing Christmas carols. I was surprised how people remembered most, if not all, stanzas for these songs without looking at the music sheets.

And, they stayed in tune while singing. Most of our members are international, which can be quite amusing when I hear how they describe Christmas stories/memories.

A bit imposing, but it was fun. Of course, we even sung the Twelve Days of Christmas. I just found out that some people apply symbolic interpretation behind the song in a Wikipedia article. What do you think?

I got an opportunity to make an oven roasted duck (first time) and I made a Polish Stir Fry with kale, sauerkraut, and polska kebasa. They didn't turn out too badly, at least that's what I thought.

My all time favorite dish was the Maine pistachio cake made by the pastor's wife. The frosting was so decadently good. Yup, Pasto W and his wife are from the Great White North, eh!

I hope to get a couple pics up in the near future.
