I missed my direct flight to Seattle by a mere few minutes this morning. Fortunately, Alaska Airlines had another flight arriving to Seattle via Los Angeles, although I had to wait a couple hours at LAX.
I ended up arriving at that cold Northwestern city of tall pine trees, steep hills, Microsoft, Space Needle sightings, and numerous coffee stands around 7:30 pm, when I was supposed to be present for an exhibit hall opening from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm and I also missed a dinner meeting.
What a way to start a business trip, eh?
It isn't my first time to miss a flight, and I get very annoyed when I do that (for whatever reason).
The airline's customer service is impeccable. The employees were so helpful in getting a timely flight to my Northwest destination. Each individual company employee took the time and explain to what they were doing to get me on a flight. Their demeanor deflected my dejected attitude.
Even if the company has been around for over 70 years, I just recently noticed this regional airline company.
It was my first time flying with them. I hope they continue with the superior customer service.
By the way, you should read this great short story (testimony) about how the airline participated in Operation Magic Carpet, a project to help Yemenite Jews migrate to Israel.
I'll share more stories about my visit in Seattle during the next few days.
Recording and sharing my experiences onscreen. Writing about the Washington DC metro area, Christianity, current events, travel, the local church scene, and my life adventures...And, yes, any tales, observations, & opinions may be included.

Hey Carlo,
Are you back? How was the rest of the conference/event? Now I know why you're never in your office when I call! You're out there missing plane connections!!
Miss you. Take care.
Hiya,
Yes, the traveler is back and finally caught up. The conference went well, although it was a little slow.
I drank so much coffee.
The organization's travel office agent called me to ask what happened as he was notified about it.
