If you ever get an opportunity, please visit the Washington Convention Center in downtown DC. There are many artwork pieces on display in the building and the design of the building is contemporary.
A couple weeks ago, I visited the place (again) when I attended a recent national conference hosted in the convention center.
The neighborhood surrounding the building is still in transition with various construction occurring in the vicinity.
