The first day of snow in the DC metro area

Yes, as you already have seen and heard, today was the first snow of the 2007 winter season in our capital city, and I am very surprised to be excited about seeing the white stuff. If you have read my blog for an extensive period, then you would know that I am not a big fan of the cold and the extended nights.

The weather today was not blistering, there was no thick wind chill factor, and, depending upon where you were located during the snow fall, it barely stuck to the ground, or it accumulated merely an inch or two of snow.

I would have to say that it was a nice introduction for the upcoming winter.

I think that the reason why I am looking forward to the new season is that it does represent change to me. The past couple seasons have been a less than easy time, personally and professionally. Even through I encountered these "ice" storms, I learned (again) about what it means to depend on God.

This week, after talking with a dear friend I haven't seen or talk with for several months, I realized that I am more than ready to move on...

As that song says, "My future is so bright, that I got to wear shades". Yes, it is an exciting time.

By the way, I heard that the weather is going to be warmer next week. The forecast for Monday at this time will be in the 60s. Huh??? What is this? Global warming?

That's another post.

Revelation 1:12-14 (New International Version)

12I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me.
And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands,
13and among the lampstands was someone "like a son of man,"
dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet
and with a golden sash around his chest.
14His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow,
and his eyes were like blazing fire.
