On Saturday, I went to this place for the day. As usual, the tourists were out and about. It wasn't so bad because I haven't been there in more than 3 years. The updated mammals section was great and this latest exhibit was quite informative.
After church service on Sunday, the YA life group, our associate pastor, and his wife sponsored a session on "Finding a Godly Spouse". It turned out much better than I realized. This event was planned while I was away.
Well, I've started back into running this month. On Sunday, I went running with S. at this location, although Roz bailed out on us. Roosevelt Island is such a great place to read, contemplate, meditate, or read God's word. If you like nature, this is the perfect place. It is such the peaceful place to watch Great Blue Herons fly or other birds floating on the water.
Another great thing about it? It's a hidden jewel among the urban life that is DC. I can hide within the city, without running from DC. So, when I want a few hours from the hustle and bustle, I go there.
Just don't tell too many people about it. It's a secret.
Recording and sharing my experiences onscreen. Writing about the Washington DC metro area, Christianity, current events, travel, the local church scene, and my life adventures...And, yes, any tales, observations, & opinions may be included.
