Yesterday's events occurred without any problems! I got an opportunity to bond with relatives at the parental unit's abode, even if they did whip out the old family albums and pictures.
The Nigerian cuisine festivities with friends went well. Roz hosted the little event.
We're so proud of her!
I tried this red beef stew with plantains and rice. Thumbs up! The stew contained tomatoes and spices.
The appetizer was a pepper soup with beef and tripe. Lots and lots of pepper. Not sweaty hot, but more like spicy hot. I'm glad I tried it.
After 4 or 5 spoonfuls, I had to grab the water bottle and grape juice.
L____ brought dessert in the form of chocolate brownies. Yup, I probably dug into 3 pieces. Okay, maybe it was 4 or more pieces. Who's counting, anyway?
During the meal, we watched the axis powers play futbol. Nothing spectacular about the game until the last 10 minutes of play where Italy finally scored twice. Why am I telling you this? You already know about it.
Unfortunately, it's an all Europe semi-final, as well as a European final. Depending upon how the Portugal-France game goes, I may be routing (or is it rooting?) for the baguette-baking, beret-wearing team for the final. Also, they were our allies during the major war, correctt?
At this moment, France is winning 1 to 0 in the 36th minute.
Anyway, I got an opportunity to hear about Nigerian fellowship and family relationships. Quite interesting. I would like to hear more about Nigerian customs and relationship dynamics.
Then, L____ got serious and asked us pointed questions about life.
It was a nice occasion to end the 4th of July holiday.
Recording and sharing my experiences onscreen. Writing about the Washington DC metro area, Christianity, current events, travel, the local church scene, and my life adventures...And, yes, any tales, observations, & opinions may be included.

I don't think you really liked the pepper soup did you Carlo? And I toned it down, just for you. And it was goat meat, rather than beef, but let's not quibble! Glad you liked the rice and stew. Thanks for coming to hang out!!
The soup was aok. A little too hearty for the summer.
Oh, sorry about the mix up on meats.
We did have fun. Yes, we did.
