This story continues from this post (part 1) and this post (part 2).
As of today, the organization has finally lifted up "operation lockdown" sanctions on our floor. In other words, staff members are not required to go through the main lobby entrance door and show IDs to the receptionist before heading to our respective offices. Staff can now walk directly through the side doors that are more convenient to use.
I am so relieved. It's been about 6 months since the floor has been on "lockdown". The camera(s) are still positioned in the same areas.
Unfortunately, we have not received any updates about the thefts. I have heard from informal sources some co-workers suspect that an ex-employee implemented the robberies with the support from a former temp.
We received a police summary that many office thefts occur in the DC area almost on a daily basis. Most likely, the thieves won't be caught, although at least one suspect has been identified by two people, one employee and one consultant.
What a shame.
Recording and sharing my experiences onscreen. Writing about the Washington DC metro area, Christianity, current events, travel, the local church scene, and my life adventures...And, yes, any tales, observations, & opinions may be included.
